Who thought recycling could be so much fun?
"Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" is a very popular slogan taught at schools which emphasises the need for sustainability but for the adorable cousins, Ayah and Layla, this slogan means much more. Ayah, a student of Ahliya School and Layla, a student of Noor Al Diyar School, contribute their little bit to our planet by recycling thrown horse shoes and spray painting as well as decorating them to create beautiful pieces of art. They also recycle plastics to make bracelets and other accessories. They have also resolved the anxiety of young kids appearing for exams by making small canvas paintings by writing motivational quotes on them. This helps to keep the students calm and focused during exams. Ayah and Layla have also participated in Young Traders, Bahrain and have sold more than 100 pieces in one single day. They have priced the decorated horse shoes at 3 BD per piece but you are lucky enough to buy 2 pieces for 5 BD. They also sell over their instagram handle @layacraftsbh. They recall that their main source of motivation to help keep our environment clean and green are their parents and grandmom.
They plan to channel their interest of recycling waste materials to re-creating beautiful pieces into actually becoming a full fledged business in the future. They are keen on preserving the beauty of our planet by eliminating plastic waste that is causing a huge threat to our planet. Young minds like Ayah and Layla are thinking about saving our planet and it is our moral duty to do every little thing we can to do the same.
